What are the measurements of a frame?
-
Lens Width or Eye Size
The lens width is measured horizontally at the widest point of the lens from edge to edge. This measurement is usually the most referenced and ranges from 40mm to 64mm.
-
Bridge Width
The bridge measures the minimum distance between the lenses or frame opening. A typical measurement falls between 14mm and 24mm but can be larger or smaller.
-
Temple Length
The temple length is measured from the hinge to the tip, including the bended part. Common temple sizes are between 130mm and 145 mm but can vary.
-
Lens Height
The lens height is measured vertically at the widest point of the lens and varies considerably across designs. This measurement is important for bifocal or progressive lenses.
